Da Pueo Press (DPP) seeks to showcase the diverse work undertaken by undergraduate students at the University of Hawai‘i–West O‘ahu, with a special emphasis on the writing conducted in the Humanities. By publishing creative, research-based, and multimodal work, the journal highlights excellence in teaching and learning across a variety of genres and disciplines; further, the journal shows our unique Pacific and global understanding rooted in Native Hawaiian values.

DPP welcomes submissions in English, Pidgin (Hawai‘i Creole English) and Ōlelo Hawaiʻi, as well as writing that blends these languages. Our journal aims to provide a spotlight for the manifold ways in which students engage in writing practices that draw on multiple, meaningful resources across different modalities–textual, visual, audio, and mixed.
