About the Journal

Here at Da Pueo Press (DPP), we are committed to linguistic justice, as it pertains to the context of the University of Hawai’i at West Oʻahu (UHWO) and other academic spaces in Hawai‘i. Students are welcome to submit pieces in Hawaiian, Pidgin, and English. We encourage students to embrace their home languages and share the languages of Hawaiʻi. We, at DPP, believe that raising awareness of language ideologies and how they impact academic stakeholders (e.g., teachers, students, administrators, editors, librarians, and specialists) can be accomplished not only in classroom practices and policies, but also in publishing scholarly works in Hawaiian, Pidgin, and English. We understand that everyone comes from different walks of life, but we do not tolerate nor allow bullying and harassment of any kind. We thank you for your time, cooperation, consideration, and compliance with our Journal. We hope to see many creative works in the near future.
