Editorial Team
Da Pueo Press (DPP) is a journal for students by students. As such, our staff is composed of current undergraduates from the University of Hawaiʻi–West Oʻahu (UHWO). We are dedicated to the work of creating a space that showcases academic excellence. Faculty editors and support staff play a crucial role as facilitators and advocates who assist student staff throughout the publishing process.
Editors-in-chief
- Dominique Cortez-Montiho: Dominique is a senior at the University of Hawai’i-West O’ahu pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Humanities with a concentration in English. She is a former phlebotomist or “professional vampire,” as she calls it. Her life goals are to publish a bestselling book series and travel worldwide. The proud cat mom and self-identified pop culture nerd enjoys watching anime, reading fantasy novels, and eating sushi.
- Megan Tossey: Megan is a fourth-year Humanities major at the University of Hawaiʻi-West Oʻahu concentrating in English and working on a certificate in Asian Studies. In Megan’s free time, she enjoys writing short stories, traveling, spending time with family, and listening to music. A fun fact about Megan is that she has a book published on Wattpad with over 100k readers. She aspires to become a best-selling author one day.
- Maria Pou: Maria is a fourth-year student at the University of Hawaiʻi-West Oʻahu working to complete her BA in Humanities with a concentration in English. She aspires to direct communications for a nonprofit organization one day. Maria is a lover of classical piano, all things outdoors, and learning new languages. In her spare time, she can be found hanging out with her nieces and nephews or sitting on the beach reading Steinbeck down by her North Shore home.
