A Love Letter to Writing

Abstract

My relationship with literacy has formed throughout my life, especially during my academic journey starting from elementary school. During these formative years, I have faced hardship and shame with my relationship towards literacy from an unsupportive learning environment. As time has gone on, the shame had continued to build until my relationship with reading and writing was severely damaged. However, this letter is written not only to reflect on my past relationship with literacy but also how it transforms now and is currently being mended. I write this letter not only to myself but other writers who have faced similar hardships with their own relationships with literacy.
